A brighter smile, at your pace

Teeth whitening

Teeth naturally become darker over time and can also pick up staining from tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. Professionally supervised home whitening can safely lighten natural tooth tissue while keeping you in control of the result.

How home whitening works

After checking that your mouth is healthy, we take impressions or digital scans for close-fitting whitening trays. You wear the trays at home with prescribed gel, usually over a series of nights, until you reach a shade you are happy with.

Your trays can normally be kept for occasional top-ups, following advice from your dentist.

What to expect

  • A consultation to check suitability and record your starting shade
  • Custom-made trays designed to minimise gel leakage
  • Clear instructions on gel placement and wear time
  • Support if you experience temporary sensitivity

Good to know

Whitening only changes the shade of natural teeth. Existing fillings, crowns, bridges and veneers will not whiten and may need to be reviewed afterwards if they no longer match.

Individual advice matters. Suitability, alternatives, risks and likely outcomes can only be confirmed after an examination.
